I love putting effort into my thumbnail designs. Not everyone might see them, but I think that it is still an important aspect of social media presence. You can really give your page and reel personality based on this one still image.
If there's a trend that I do not mind getting on board with, it is the use of bright yellow text and fun typography! I also love using cutouts and compositing text behind or in front of the images. It makes a static image more dynamic. Got to have some whimsy wherever I can!
It is a great challenge to fit everything that could encapsulate what the audience should expect from the reel, but it should also leave them wanting for more so that they click on the post.
